IDK Now

When you don’t know what to do next: survey, ask, suggest a vision-tied next skill.

When you don’t know what to do next: survey, ask, suggest a vision-tied next skill. This practice is a skill-mapped TTP: when, why, and which command—not a full copy of the skill. Open the skill to execute.

Under uncertainty, generating options without a goal increases thrash. Product and engineering research both start from problem framing and user/outcome clarity before solutions. A short survey + constrained next step mirrors small-batch delivery and Beck’s “pass the tests / reveal intention” bias toward clarity.

When the situation matches the one-liner above and Orientation (or your lifecycle / Architecture bet) says this is the fire to touch now.

  • Invoke the skill; follow its safety rules
  • Keep one write owner; collect evidence before claiming done
  • Hand off to the next practice instead of boiling the ocean
  • Default to DocSlime init when a surgical document-it or in-chat vision statement unblocks
  • Skip orientation when you’re lost
  • Spawn overlapping agents to “go faster”
  • Treat the practice as done without evidence
